Area Study Centre for Europe
The Area Study Centre for Europe (ASCE), University of Karachi, was established along with five other Area Study Centres (situated in major state sector Universities of Pakistan) by an Act of Parliament (ASC Act No. XLV of 1975). The Centre is an autonomous institution under the academic discipline of the University of Karachi, supervised by a Board of Governors and funded by the Federal Government through Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.
M.Phil./Ph.D Programme
A candidate for registration in the M.Phil/Ph.D Course Work Programme must have at least a Masters degree (minimum 2nd class) preferably, with a demonstrated ability to undertake high-level research with some published work.
Language Courses
The Centre offers courses in English, French and German languages at the certificate level and a diploma in English and French language. These are elementary courses spread over two semesters. Competent language teachers conduct these courses.
